Featuring a classic six-light glazed upper section with two raised lower panels, the Dorset offers an attractive, well-proportioned appearance while allowing plenty of natural light into the entrance hallway. The glazing is manufactured from toughened safety glass and incorporates Low-E technology with Argon gas filling to help improve insulation.
Part of the Mendes Thermawood External Thermal Rated Range, the Dorset uses an advanced multi-layer construction designed to provide excellent strength, stability and energy efficiency.
The 45mm thick door incorporates an XPS foam insulated core, structural LVL construction with Meranti lippings, 3.6mm plywood layers and an integrated 0.2mm aluminium reinforcement sheet. This engineered construction helps minimise movement and warping while providing U-values of approximately 1.32–1.36 W/m²K, depending on door size.
Supplied grey primed in RAL 7038, the Thermawood Dorset arrives ready for its required final topcoat, allowing the door to be finished in a colour that complements the exterior of the property.
The engineered construction also offers excellent flexibility when fitting. The Dorset can be trimmed by up to 25mm from each edge, making it particularly suitable for replacement doors, refurbishment projects and openings where some adjustment may be required on site.
